I have a network with some computers runing windows Vista and a windows server The computers are working in a network with a domain and fixed IPs and users logs in with their domain accounts at the computers.
Some computers are doing something that i cant figure out the reason. Some computers works just fine, but two or three of them are having trouble working with the network eventhough they detect the network and open the folders shared on the network. If i try to open the windows vista network and share center the computer stops responding and windows explorer has to be restarted and also some network apllication doesn't open.
Sometimes If i restart the computer the problem normally is gone and the pc works normally. This problem seems to be random and i don't know if it is something related to the windows server or with the windows vista. It appears that the first two are connected and the last three are connected. The dump files are pointing to two different symbols.
So I got my issue fixed. It looks like this issue was being caused by AIM. I just uninstalled and reinstalled AIM. Unfotunately, It did not fix my problem.
I already had a relatively new version of AIM after I installed the service pack anyways. Did you check the event viewer? Sometimes, it'll give you an external link to microsoft technet to see if they provide a solution to the problem. Also, the system automatically creates a system restore point before the update installs.
That may help and then when you do that, report the problem to microsoft. This is actually a different problem and there is no bucket id associated with the report in the event viewer for me to research on our end.
Thank you. Lara Jones [MS]. Network Store Interface Service - I don't know if you have AIM installed on your computer. The Local Service account is a special built-in account that has reduced privileges similar to an authenticated local user account.
This limited access helps safeguard the computer if an attacker compromises individual services or processes. A service that runs as the Local Service account accesses network resources as a null session; that is, it uses anonymous credentials.
LocalService account : The LocalService account has minimum rights on the local computer and uses anonymous credentials on the network. This account has reduced privileges and acts in a similar fashion to an authenticated local user account.
Use of this account is useful when the LocalSystem account provides too much access for services that do not need deep access to a system. When you get to command prompt open it up by right clicking on command prompt and open as administrator then paste in the line. Sandar, Please read the last post in the thread before you go posting a reply.
Proper forum etiquette requires that you read the posts in the thread and not blindly post exactly what is written in them, that is called 'redundancy' and it consumes bandwidth and is a waste of time for those reading for a REAL solution. It is a giant security risk, as a developer who is running a server and many applications which require constant connectivity, I am not willing to take this risk.
I found a better solution for my network and sharing issue that I agree with ALOT better than the LocalService solution, please refer to this thread:. I'm cross posting my own message so please don't bug that the same thing is written on multiple forums Ok, as corrected by a few Forum "posters" on other issues related to this one, there is finally a solution everyone can agree with and can do very easily.
Just so you can get some background on the fix and kick yourself that it is just "that" easy here is the Microsoft KB that explains it:. Looks like you can use it in XP as well as Vista any version so those of you with the same issues in XP might try this little gem. Below forum links explain why thanks Ramzypro. You receive a "Task is completed" message, and a warning message that something could not be done.
You can safely ignore this message. Note In Windows Vista, the defltbase. I think this does it I'm just a humble intermediate computer operator, not any sort of programmer or sys admin, so unfortunately I won't have many answers for you besides troubleshooting experience or forum scouring knowledge.
