No HDCP, no display - at all. Oh, oops. You are right. I just re-read the manual. This is totally lame. Why the fuck do games care about HDCP???? What's the best output PS3 can do over Component? I think the HDCP is non-defeatable in an attempt to curb piracy.
No display. Can anyone verify? Maybe something else is making my current display not work with my PS Basically you attack it by swapping a bunch of devices around and then you can extract the keys which they use to identify themselves. It was broken even before it was released.
In academic circles, not sure if there are products which actually use the attacks yet. Absolutely fucking awesome. That does not appear to always be the case. Hooked up to my Dell A03 , it is simply stunning. Its just an awesome setup. Hope that helps ya'll that are looking into this setup.
SherifGTi, are you certain that the PS3 is displaying at p with the ? Good news if so. My interest has moved from the to the BenQ The current firmware for stretches everything to 16x10 but new units are supposed to have a fix to support pixel mapping.
This stuff might work for most of situation Now enjoy PS3 not only in living room, but also besides your PC! Features 1. Support i, p, p, i, p 3. Compliant with DVI 1. Auto and manual channel selection, an external button is attached 5. Electronic design 6. LED status to indicate the source displayed 7. Magnetic pad and attachable metal plate to ease the installation. How much do you want to bet, these 'game switches' become quite popular, due to the myriad plugs available now, and the growing prevalence of homes with multiple consoles?
I could see HDCP and the like going the way of region encoding; a flood of Taiwanese knockoff products that will conveniently forget to enforce the keys. Of course they can issue new keys with the newer stuff but that might cause so much more consumer frustration and backlash as to be more-or-less useless.
Magnetic pad and attachable metal plate to ease the installation How does this thing work? The box is built in hdcp, so it can be used in regular DVI display. What they're asking is where is the HDCP part being dealt with - is it being passed through to the monitor or is it being terminated on the box itself and then passing an unencrypted signal on to the monitor? CTD - can support p 3. MOZO F can support p 4. Its nice and wide, but the thing is so heavy I really get the impression it would break just falling over.
I've found the PS3 gets a hell of a lot hotter when horizontal, you better believe I'm standing it up. Mine's on an open shelf so perhaps I haven't noticed, but what would cause that? A single, larger fan? A single, larger heat sink?
Or would you say that the PS3 ejects as much air as the ? I have no idea. I'm inclined to think the pushes less air, because of that huge power brick. Although it sure doesn't sound like it. Still curious as to why a horizontal positioning would generate more heat. If there is something obvious I am missing, I apologize. Actually, after feeling the hot air coming out of my PS3 systems both of them 'standing up' from both the vents on the back and the top, my PS3s do put out as much hot air as my Xbox I just can't hear them, compared to the 'jet engine' whine of my SurfMedia: I still don't understand how that device works.
Well, this device can't handle audio since it only has DVI-D ports. Devices like these aren't legal, are they? When placing a PS3 horizontal, more surface area of the PS3 is touching the surface it is sitting on, causing the heat within the PS3 to spread within it more evenly. It's just some physics. Simply buy any generic HDMI cable, and attach your console to the monitor. This can be done two ways.
The Logitech adapter is perfect for it, and works for every console. Simply match up the colors for the inputs, and attach your speakers to the other side. If the Amazon link isn't showing up to the right, search Logitech 5.
The model number I can find is SA. It only has two jacks. One for headphones and another with a musical note next to it. It's designed so that you cannot use cables in both ports at the same time. My computer monitor has all 3 input slots it seems, including the VGA one. Does that mean I can connect my Wii to it by following these instructions? This is essentially copyright for HDMI stuff. I have connected ps3 to samsung syncmaster thorough hdmi to dvi cable but i can't see video.
Thanks in advance I connected my ps3 using that cable for vga, but I don't get any video only the sound works. My pc monitor says 'input not supported'. Personal Finance. Related Articles. By Dean Traylor.
